The Tipra Motha has intensified its campaign for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, positioning itself as a potential game-changer in the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections. On Sunday, party candidate Runiel Debbarma led a massive outreach drive in Sipahi Para and Ting Tang under the 14 Bodhjhungnagar–Wakhinagar constituency, urging voters to support the party’s pineapple symbol in the April 12 polls.

The campaign witnessed significant public participation, with thousands of party workers and supporters joining the door-to-door outreach. Runiel Debbarma was accompanied by several local leaders, including Lefunga president Dipak Debbarma, youth wing block president Prashanta Debbarma, and women’s leader Sagarika Debbarma. Their coordinated effort reflected the party’s growing grassroots strength and organisational momentum in the region.

Addressing residents during the campaign, Runiel Debbarma said the enthusiastic response from voters indicates a strong desire for change and a growing alignment with the party’s vision. He emphasized that the ongoing campaign goes beyond the ADC elections, serving as a crucial stepping stone for Tipra Motha to emerge as a decisive “X-factor” in the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections.

A key focus of the campaign has been the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, along with broader tribal rights and development issues. Party leaders reiterated their commitment to safeguarding indigenous interests, improving socio-economic conditions, and ensuring greater political representation for tribal communities.

Political observers believe that the scale of mobilisation and the visible public support could significantly impact the outcome of the ADC elections. Moreover, the momentum generated during this campaign may shape the broader political trajectory of Tripura in the coming years. As the April 12 polls draw closer, Tipra Motha’s performance is likely to be closely watched for its potential implications on the 2028 Assembly elections.
