Agartala: Dec 25: A devastating plane crash occurred near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, leaving over 20 passengers confirmed alive, while dozens are feared dead. The crash took place on Wednesday, with reports coming from the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry. The aircraft, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane, was en route from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny in Russia’s Chechnya. However, due to dense fog at its intended destination in Grozny, the flight was rerouted to Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan.

The exact cause of the crash is yet to be fully determined, but it is clear that the weather conditions played a significant role in the aircraft’s change of route. Russian news agencies reported that the rerouting occurred as the fog in Grozny made it impossible for the plane to land safely there. The plane was carrying more than 60 passengers and crew members, and the crash near Aktau has left the aviation community and families of those on board in shock.

Emergency teams quickly responded to the crash site, and while more than 20 survivors have been confirmed, many others are feared to have perished in the tragic accident. Rescue operations are ongoing, with efforts to retrieve those who survived and assess the full scale of the damage. The plane’s flight path change, coupled with adverse weather conditions, has raised concerns over the safety measures in such unpredictable situations.

This incident highlights the dangers of unpredictable weather and the need for more stringent safety protocols, especially in areas prone to dense fog and poor visibility. Investigations are underway to uncover more details, and officials are focusing on both the cause of the crash and the survival of the passengers. The authorities are expected to release more information in the coming days.
