Bengaluru:May 04: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has challenged senior Congress leaders to prove their claims regarding B.R. Ambedkar’s electoral defeat. Speaking at the BJP office in Bengaluru, Narayanaswamy stated that if Congress leaders could substantiate their statements, he would resign from his position and retire from politics.

Narayanaswamy specifically addressed remarks made by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Minister Priyank Kharge, and senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, who asserted that Ambedkar was defeated by Communist leader Shripad Amrit Dange and RSS ideologue Veer Savarkar, not by the Congress. He challenged them to provide evidence, offering a cash reward of ₹1,00,001 if they succeeded.

He further criticized Congress leaders, alleging that they had failed to ensure justice for Ambedkar and the Dalit community during their tenure. He questioned why the Congress, despite ruling for decades, had not addressed issues related to reservation and internal reservation for Scheduled Castes in Karnataka.

Narayanaswamy also commented on law and order in Karnataka, raising concerns about the handling of recent incidents, including the murder of Suhas Shetty. He alleged that police officials had failed to provide protection despite prior threats and questioned the delay in filing an FIR.

Additionally, he criticized the Congress government’s approach to governance, questioning its handling of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and its relationship with retired officials.

The remarks come amid ongoing political debates in Karnataka, with Narayanaswamy’s statements adding to the discourse on electoral history, governance, and law enforcement in the state.
