Agartala Oct 03: In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a suspected human trafficker in the early hours of Thursday.
The arrest took place in Motinagar agar Gilamura, with significant assistance from the Border Security Force (BSF) and Sonamura Police personnel.
Providing the details to the reporters, Tapas Das, Officer in-charge Agartala GRPS said, “The detained person identified as Nazmul Hossain (19), is a resident of Motinagar, Gilamura, under the jurisdiction of Sonamura Police Station in Sepahijala district. Hossain is allegedly involved in one case of human trafficking”.
“For further investigation, we are producing the accused before the Court seeking police remand”, he added.
Authorities however believe that this arrest could lead to further apprehensions of human traffickers operating in the region.
