Agartala, July 24: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to resolving public grievances and ensuring effective delivery of basic services during a review meeting on helpline services held at the Secretariat’s Conference Hall on Thursday.
Highlighting the importance of the CM Helpline Number – 1905, Dr. Saha described it as a vital bridge between the public and the government, especially during emergencies. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about the CM Helpline and other departmental helplines to ensure citizens can utilize them effectively.
“To improve outreach, awareness campaigns must be organized in schools, colleges, and public outreach camps,” said the Chief Minister. He also urged all government departments to work in close coordination and ensure the timely redressal of complaints.
Dr. Saha reviewed the current functioning of helpline numbers across various departments and inquired about the mechanisms in place to resolve citizen issues. He directed officials to adopt a proactive approach in addressing grievances.
Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha noted that the CM Helpline (1905) has received recognition from the Prime Minister’s Office for its effective performance. He called for regular monitoring of all helpline services to enhance responsiveness and efficiency.
Good Governance Department Secretary Kiran Gitte presented a comprehensive visual report on the operations and impact of the CM Helpline. Director General of Police Anurag shared insights into five helplines operated by the Home Department.
The meeting also featured presentations on ambulance services, online support from the Disaster Management Department, Childline, and helpline services for senior citizens—offering a detailed overview of the state’s integrated emergency and citizen support systems.
