Agartala, Oct 24: Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura Frontier, paid a courtesy visit to Hon’ble Governor Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, on Friday evening.
During the meeting, the BSF IG briefed the Governor on the overall security situation along the Indo-Bangladesh border, highlighting the force’s efforts in ensuring border management, maintaining peace, and preventing trans-border crimes such as smuggling and illegal infiltration.
Discussions also centered on recent operational achievements, enhanced surveillance measures, and coordination with state law enforcement agencies to strengthen internal security. IG Chakraborty apprised the Governor of BSF’s use of modern technology, including smart fencing and drone surveillance, to effectively monitor sensitive border areas and ensure round-the-clock vigilance.
The Governor appreciated the BSF’s dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers and acknowledged the challenges faced by personnel deployed in remote and difficult terrains. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining strong coordination between the BSF and the Tripura Police to ensure peace and stability across border districts.
Governor Nallu conveyed his gratitude to the BSF for its continued service in protecting the integrity of the nation and lauded its role in supporting local communities through civic action programmes and outreach initiatives.
The meeting concluded on a cordial note, reaffirming the mutual commitment of both the BSF Tripura Frontier and the Raj Bhavan toward maintaining security, harmony, and development in the border areas.
IG Chakraborty expressed his appreciation to the Governor for his encouragement and assured continued efforts by the BSF to uphold safety and peace along the international boundary.
