Agartala: Nov 07: The Tripura Legislative Assembly is set to introduce a streamlined online system for submitting questions in the upcoming assembly session, as announced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath following an all-party meeting. This new system is designed to improve the efficiency and accessibility of parliamentary proceedings.
Minister Nath shared that while the assembly had already initiated some online processes, Thursday’s meeting in the assembly conference hall sought to expand this digital approach further. Key participants in the meeting included the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the Opposition, members of the ministerial council, and other stakeholders. The focus was on addressing operational challenges faced in conducting online proceedings and finding solutions to enhance the overall process.
A major decision taken during the meeting was to allow Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to submit their questions both online and offline. This hybrid approach aims to accommodate all members, ensuring no one is left out due to technological constraints. The online submission system will officially begin from the next assembly session, making it easier for MLAs to raise pertinent issues on behalf of their constituencies.
The move to digitalize the question submission process is expected to benefit the general public of Tripura by ensuring quicker and more transparent proceedings.
