Mumbai, January 20:
Bollywood icons Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff delighted fans as they reunited on the sets of comedian Kapil Sharma’s popular show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. Their appearance instantly transported audiences back to the golden era of 1990s Hindi cinema, with a warm and memorable moment stealing the spotlight when Jackie was seen kissing Madhuri’s hand in a charming, old-school gentlemanly gesture.
In videos circulating from the set, Madhuri looked effortlessly elegant in a black off-shoulder midi dress adorned with striking red floral prints. She completed the look with classic black heels and minimal jewellery, radiating timeless grace. Jackie Shroff, known for his distinctive style, opted for an all-black ensemble layered with a jacket featuring subtle patterned detailing on the cuffs, staying true to his suave and effortless persona.
The duo shared warm smiles, posed together for photographers, and interacted cheerfully with paparazzi, further adding to the nostalgic atmosphere on the show. Fans were quick to recall their on-screen chemistry from several memorable films, including Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, 100 Days, and Prem Deewane, all of which continue to enjoy cult status among Bollywood lovers.
Jackie Shroff has, in several past interviews, openly admitted to having a huge crush on Madhuri during the 1990s, a revelation that makes their recent reunion even more special for fans. During her prime, Madhuri was widely regarded as Bollywood’s “dream girl,” admired not only by audiences but also by fellow actors. Stars across generations, from Anil Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor, have spoken about being ardent admirers of her work.
Madhuri’s illustrious filmography includes blockbusters such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Dil, Beta, Anjaam, and Tezaab. Her iconic dance numbers—Ek Do Teen, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Choli Ke Peeche, and Mera Piya Ghar Aaya—cemented her status as the industry’s ultimate dancing queen, especially through her legendary collaborations with choreographer Saroj Khan.
On the personal front, Madhuri married Dr. Shriram Nene and briefly stepped away from films, spending nearly a decade in the United States. She later returned to India and made a successful comeback with Aaja Nachle. More recently, she has ventured into the OTT space, with her latest series Mrs Deshpande receiving widespread praise from both audiences and critics.
