Bhubaneswar: Nov 12: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik jointly launched the official website for the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention, marking the start of online registration for the event. The PBD, which will be held from January 8-10, 2025, in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar, will bring together the Indian diaspora from around the world to celebrate their contributions to India’s growth and development.
The launch of the website allows overseas Indian communities to register for the convention and access important information about the event. The theme for this year’s PBD Convention is focused on “Connecting for a Vibrant Future,” highlighting the role of the diaspora in strengthening India’s global ties.
Jaishankar emphasized the significant role of the Indian diaspora in the country’s diplomatic and economic engagement with the world, while Chief Minister Patnaik welcomed the opportunity to host such an important event in Odisha, showcasing the state’s growing global presence. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is a key platform for engaging with the Indian community abroad, with discussions on a wide range of issues related to development, culture, and the strengthening of ties between India and its overseas citizens.
