Bengaluru: Feb 28: A BJP delegation, led by state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra, met with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to present a series of demands related to development grants and other key issues. The delegation, which aimed to secure support for various constituencies, included several prominent BJP leaders such as Opposition Leader R. Ashok, Bengaluru Central MP P.C. Mohan, Bengaluru South MP Tejaswi Surya, Yuva Morcha National President, and various Bengaluru MLAs and Legislative Council members. Additionally, the delegation was joined by Rajya Sabha members, district presidents, and state chief spokesperson Ashwathnarayan.

The meeting, held at Kumarakrupa Guest House in Bengaluru, focused on multiple demands for the state’s development, with a particular emphasis on funding for critical infrastructure projects. The BJP delegation urged the Chief Minister to prioritize the release of grants that would assist in accelerating development work across Karnataka, particularly in Bengaluru and its surrounding districts.

Following the discussions at the guest house, the BJP leaders proceeded to the Chief Minister’s official residence, Kaveri, for further talks. The visit highlights ongoing political engagements in the state as the BJP seeks to balance its role as both the opposition and a force advocating for local development and welfare initiatives.

While the BJP’s appeal covers several areas, the delegation’s emphasis on timely and sufficient funding underscores the party’s growing concerns about the state government’s approach to development projects and the perceived delays in addressing local needs. The outcome of these meetings will likely influence the political dynamics and future discussions between the ruling Congress government and the BJP in Karnataka.
