Agartala: Feb 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura is preparing to announce its new Pradesh president, following the appointments of booth, mandal, and district presidents. According to BJP state chief spokesman Subrata Chakraborty, the process of electing state presidents is ongoing across the country, and he expressed optimism that Tripura would also have its new president soon.
On Thursday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired an important organizational meeting at the party’s state office in Agartala. The meeting was attended by BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Agriculture Minister and senior leader Ratanlal Nath, Mahila Morcha state president Mimi Majumder, and other key state leaders.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a range of organizational matters in the presence of the newly elected district presidents and office bearers. One of the key decisions made during the meeting was the announcement of a public rally in Agartala on March 9 to celebrate the second anniversary of the BJP-led government 2.0. The rally will begin at 11 am, with the expectation of a turnout of 40,000 to 50,000 people from across the state. The rally was planned for March 9, as the BJP-led government 2.0 will officially complete its second year on March 8, but the date was adjusted due to ongoing board examinations.
In a moment of reflection, all party leaders present observed a one-minute silence to honor the memory of Late Balai Goswami, the former Sabhadhipati of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad, who recently passed away. The meeting served as a crucial step in finalizing the party’s plans and leadership for the upcoming year.
