Agartala, November 12:
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today attended a high-level review meeting with the Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, to discuss the proposed Matabari Tourist Circuit Project aimed at transforming Tripura’s tourism landscape.

The proposed tourist circuit has been conceptualized as a 4-night, 5-day itinerary, encompassing key destinations such as Agartala, Neermahal, Sepahijala, Udaipur, Chabimura, and Dumboor. The initiative seeks to highlight the state’s rich cultural heritage, natural splendor, and spiritual significance, offering visitors a holistic experience that showcases the best of Tripura’s tourism potential.

During the discussion, the DoNER Minister responded positively to the proposal and assured the Central Government’s support for funding the key developmental components of the circuit. The proposed project includes the enhancement of infrastructure, improvement of connectivity, and creation of tourism amenities along the identified destinations to ensure a comfortable and enriching experience for travelers.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized that the Matabari Tourist Circuit would serve as a catalyst for Tripura’s tourism growth by attracting domestic and international visitors, promoting regional entrepreneurship, and generating sustainable employment opportunities for local communities. He also highlighted that the project aligns with the State Government’s broader vision of developing Tripura as a premier cultural and eco-tourism hub in the North Eastern region.

The meeting concluded on a constructive note, with both leaders expressing optimism that the proposed circuit would significantly enhance Tripura’s tourism profile and contribute to the state’s socio-economic development. The collaboration marks another major step toward positioning Tripura as an emerging destination in India’s tourism map.
