Agartala: Sept 23: A grave law and order situation is prevailing in Tripura. Congress has vehemently protested against this. Today, Congress leaders led a protest march in the city and surrounded the office of the Director General of Police. A Congress delegation met with the DGP today.
State Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha said that a terrible law and order situation is prevailing in Tripura. The administration is indifferent to the relief and rehabilitation of those affected by the recent floods. Police are playing an inactive role in various crimes including murder, terrorism, rape, attacks on opposition leaders and workers, theft, robbery, and human trafficking across the state.
He further stated that the BJP is looting democracy in the state panchayat elections. Many Congress workers have been injured. There is no democracy in the state. BJP candidates have won all seats in the panchayat by force. Moreover, BJP workers and supporters prevented people from voting. But the police are not playing a neutral role.
According to him, women are being harassed every day. A dictatorial government is ruling in Tripura. Women are not safe in the state. In protest against this, Congress will surround the police headquarters tomorrow against terrorism and women’s harassment.
