Ambassa, Nov 11 — In a remarkable achievement for Tripura’s healthcare sector, Dhalai District Hospital has earned three prestigious national certifications — NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards), LAQSHYA (Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative), and MUSQAN (Child-Friendly Hospital Initiative) — establishing itself as a model of excellence in public health services.

With this recognition, Dhalai District Hospital has become the first district hospital in Tripura to secure all three certifications, marking a major milestone in the state’s pursuit of quality and patient-centric healthcare. The evaluation, conducted by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) between September 24 and 26, 2025, assessed the hospital’s performance across multiple parameters, including patient safety, infrastructure, hygiene, and service delivery.

Under the NQAS framework, the hospital achieved an impressive overall score of 90.21 percent, reflecting its adherence to national standards and strong institutional management. In the LAQSHYA assessment, which focuses on improving maternal and newborn care, the hospital recorded exceptional scores of 94.48 percent and 94.27 percent in different categories. Additionally, the MUSQAN certification, designed to promote child-friendly and adolescent health services, saw the hospital scoring 86.64 percent — a testament to its dedication to pediatric well-being.

Hospital officials attributed the success to the coordinated efforts of doctors, nurses, and support staff who worked tirelessly to enhance quality standards. “This achievement reflects our team’s commitment to providing compassionate, efficient, and safe healthcare for every patient,” a senior hospital official said.

The State Health Department hailed the certification as a proud moment for Tripura, emphasizing that Dhalai District Hospital’s success would serve as an inspiration for other district hospitals to adopt similar quality improvement measures, advancing the state’s mission of delivering equitable and reliable healthcare for all.
