Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu paid floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, today. The solemn ceremony was held to honor the extraordinary legacy of the legendary tribal freedom fighter, whose contributions to India’s anti-colonial struggle and tribal rights movement continue to inspire generations.

During the tribute, the Governor highlighted Birsa Munda’s remarkable role in mobilizing tribal communities against British oppression and safeguarding their cultural identity, land rights and social dignity. He emphasized that Birsa Munda was not only a leader of the Munda community but a symbol of courage and resistance for the entire nation. His reforms, sacrifices and visionary leadership remain integral to India’s historical and cultural narrative.

The Governor also noted that observing Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary is a meaningful way to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of tribal communities to India’s diversity and unity. Officials, staff members of Raj Bhavan and invited guests were present at the event. They joined the Governor in paying respects and reflecting on the revolutionary leader’s enduring influence on tribal empowerment. The atmosphere at Raj Bhavan remained solemn yet inspiring, filled with reverence for Birsa Munda’s life and legacy.
