Agartala: Pithe Puli Utsav is very important for everyone as it promotes social harmony, awakens humanity, and strengthens Indian culture by building real people.

This was said by Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath today after inaugurating the Pithe Puli Utsav at Ballavpur School Premises, Ballavpur, Sadar, West Tripura.

He said that everyone has come together here to celebrate the Pithe Puli Utsav.

“This is not a religious or social program but an outcome of an agriculture-based lifestyle, tradition, and culture. This is celebrated across the country. This is our Indian culture and tradition. It is known by various names across the nation. This is the beginning of the Uttarayan Yatra and a celebration of the happiness of the new harvest in the houses of farmers. The main focus is agriculture-based,” said the Minister.

The Minister informed that winter is a special time as nature changes its appearance with golden crops, beautiful skies, and festive excitement among people. During this time, we organize Pithe Puli Utsav, Nagar Kirtan, Lok Sangeet, Baul Kirtan, and other events, which are rooted in agriculture, nature, and the relationship of people over thousands of years. This is a time to celebrate the success of farmers as well as a day of happiness.

“This success comes after tireless and hard work in the fields. Farmers spend day and night, amidst rain, sun, and winter, just to provide us food. They are not only food producers but also the foundation of our civilization. Pithe Puli Utsav unites everyone. Now, people across the world are following the traditions and culture of India. This country is a land of Swami Vivekananda. Everything comes from agriculture, and agriculture is our foundation,” he said.

He also said that everyone must modernize, but no one should forget their roots.

“Those who cannot maintain culture will not be able to succeed anytime. Pithe Puli Utsav is very important for us as it promotes social harmony and awakens humanity. Our Indian culture builds real people,” he said.

During the event, In-charge Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, Mayor Dipak Majumder, and others were present.
