Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar on Saturday conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing development projects in the Ramnagar assembly constituency, reiterating the government’s commitment to upgrading civic infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
Majumdar began his visit at a privately-owned pond located on Ramthakur Lane, which had long been neglected. Responding to concerns raised by local residents, he assured that the pond would be renovated and made suitable for public use, emphasizing the government’s focus on restoring neglected public spaces.
He then proceeded to Ramnagar Road No. 8, where repair and reconstruction work worth nearly Rs 5 crore is currently underway. The MLA observed the progress of road widening, resurfacing, and drainage improvements, stressing the importance of timely completion to ease traffic congestion and enhance road safety.
Majumdar later visited another pond at Ranjit Nagar, reviewing the ongoing renovation work. He appealed to local residents to remain patient while construction continues, assuring that efforts are being made to complete the project as quickly as possible without compromising quality.
Speaking to the media, Majumdar expressed confidence that these projects would significantly transform the face of Agartala city in the coming months. “We are working with urgency and dedication. Very soon, the people of Agartala will witness a transformed city with better roads, improved water bodies, and enhanced civic amenities,” he said.
The Mayor highlighted that the administration is committed to maintaining transparency and addressing citizen concerns while ensuring efficient execution of development works. He also encouraged residents to actively participate in monitoring progress and provide feedback to help improve service delivery.
Majumdar’s inspection underscores the state government’s proactive approach to urban development and its focus on creating a cleaner, safer, and more livable Agartala through sustained civic projects and timely infrastructure upgrades.
