Minister Bikas Debbarma on Monday initiated repair work on a long-neglected but crucial road in Haludia, honouring a commitment he made to local residents just a day earlier. The assurance was given during a public joining meeting held on Sunday, where the Janajati Morcha welcomed 46 voters from 14 families who left the Tipra Motha party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing the gathering, Debbarma said the new members’ decision reflected their trust in development-oriented governance, transparency, and stability. He noted that such support strengthens the leadership’s responsibility to work collectively for Tripura’s continued progress.
At the meeting, residents highlighted the urgent need to repair the deteriorated road, which had long caused inconvenience. Responding to their appeal, Debbarma promised immediate action. True to his word, the minister and local MLA began the repair work the very next day, deploying workers to initiate the project without delay.
Debbarma reiterated that fulfilling commitments remains his top priority. “Every promise made to the people is my responsibility,” he said. “Ensuring development and addressing people’s needs will always be my foremost goal.”
