Biker Killed in Fatal Collision with Bus on NH near Santirbazar

Agartala: Oct 03: A 40-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic road accident after his two-wheeler collided head-on with a passenger bus on the National Highway at Betaga Signboard area under Santirbazar police station on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Dipankar Talukdar, a resident of Muhuripur and son of Nitai Talukdar.

According to police sources, the accident occurred around 1:25 PM near the local college. An Agartala-bound bus (TR 01 B 1392) coming from Sabroom collided with the motorcycle (TR 08 A 6702), which was travelling towards Muhuripur from Bir Chandra Manu Bazar. The impact of the collision threw the rider onto the highway, causing severe bodily injuries.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Santirbazar rushed to the spot upon receiving information and transported the critically injured victim to the Santirbazar District Hospital, where attending doctors declared him brought dead.

Police officers from Santirbazar station subsequently secured the crash site and launched a formal investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the fatal crash. The body has been shifted to the Santirbazar hospital morgue and will be handed over to the family following a post-mortem examination.
