Agartala, October 6: West Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb interacted with UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific Kanni Wignaraja at the United Nations Headquarters, where he highlighted India's long-term development vision and roadmap for achieving the goal of a developed nation by 2047.
Deb took part in the interaction along with fellow Members of Parliament and discussed India's approach to inclusive development, sustainable growth and governance reforms.
According to a statement, Deb outlined India's vision of "Viksit Bharat @2047", which seeks to transform the country into a developed nation by the centenary of its Independence.
The discussions focused on India's development priorities and the strategies being pursued to achieve sustained economic and social progress over the coming decades.
Deb highlighted the government's emphasis on inclusive growth and referred to the guiding principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", under which development initiatives are aimed at reaching different sections of society.
He also shared details of India's development roadmap covering sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, technology and social empowerment.
According to the statement, Wignaraja appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and acknowledged the relevance of the inclusive development approach reflected in the principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas".
The interaction also provided an opportunity to discuss India's experience in pursuing development while addressing issues of social inclusion and equitable growth.
UNDP representatives expressed interest in India's approach to sustainable development, governance and social empowerment, according to the statement.
