Agartala, Oct 8: Tripura Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday chaired a preparatory meeting in Jirania Sub-Division to review arrangements for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Durga Puja celebrations.
The meeting was held at the conference hall of the Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office and was attended by public representatives, officials of the police administration and officers from various government departments.
The meeting reviewed preparations for the annual festival, with emphasis on maintaining law and order, traffic management, public safety and uninterrupted delivery of essential services during the festive period.
Officials also discussed measures to ensure the convenience of devotees and residents, particularly in areas expected to witness large gatherings during the celebrations.
Chowdhury stressed the need for close coordination among different departments and agencies to address issues that may arise during the festival. He called upon officials and public representatives to work together to ensure that the celebrations are conducted in an orderly manner without causing inconvenience to the public.
The minister also underlined the importance of maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood during the festivities.
He expressed hope that the collective efforts of the administration, elected representatives, police personnel and local residents would help ensure peaceful celebrations across Jirania Sub-Division.
The discussions also focused on ensuring adequate arrangements related to traffic movement and public safety so that devotees can participate in the festivities without disruption.
Chowdhury conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of Durga Puja and wished for a peaceful and joyous festival season.
He said the celebrations should help strengthen bonds of friendship, unity and togetherness among people.
Seeking the blessings of Goddess Durga, the minister wished happiness, peace and prosperity for all and expressed confidence that the festival would be celebrated with enthusiasm, mutual respect and a spirit of harmony throughout the sub-division.
The meeting was part of the administration's preparatory exercise ahead of the Durga Puja festivities, with officials reviewing arrangements to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
