Agartala, Oct 14: Candidates awaiting recruitment to Fireman posts in the Tripura Fire Service Department on Wednesday submitted a fresh deputation to the authorities, demanding the immediate declaration of recruitment results and completion of the appointment process.

The aspirants warned that they would launch a larger agitation if their demands were not addressed at the earliest.

According to the candidates, the department issued a recruitment notification in 2022 for Fireman and Driver posts, following which physical tests and written examinations were conducted as part of the selection process.

While the recruitment process for Driver posts has already been completed, the results for Fireman posts are yet to be declared, they alleged.

The candidates claimed that nearly four years had passed since the recruitment examinations were held, but the department had made no progress towards completing the selection process for Fireman posts.

Expressing concern over the prolonged delay, the aspirants urged the authorities to expedite the recruitment process and fill the vacant positions without further delay.

They said the uncertainty surrounding the results had left candidates waiting for an outcome despite having appeared for the required examinations and other selection procedures.

The aspirants also appealed to Chief Minister Manik Saha to intervene personally and direct the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to complete the recruitment process at the earliest.

They maintained that the delay had caused frustration among candidates who had been waiting for the outcome of the selection process for several years.

The candidates further pointed out that filling the vacant Fireman posts was important not only for those seeking employment but also for meeting the manpower requirements of the Fire Service Department.

They urged the government to provide clarity on the status of the pending recruitment and announce a timeline for declaring the results and completing the appointments.

The aspirants said they hoped the authorities would take their demands seriously and resolve the issue through prompt action.

They cautioned that if the recruitment process continued to remain stalled and no concrete steps were taken, they would be compelled to intensify their protest in the coming days.

There was no immediate response from the department or the state government on the candidates' demands.
