Agartala: Feb 22: On June 5, 2018, a murder took place in the Bhola-nand Palli area, under the jurisdiction of N.C.C. Police Station in Agartala. The victim, Rezaul Hossain Laskar, hailed from the Karimganj district of Assam. It was reported that both Rezaul Hossain Laskar and his associate, Hossain Ahmed, worked as masons and were renting a house in the Bhola-nand Palli area.

On the morning of June 5, the landlord of the house discovered Rezaul’s lifeless body in his rented room with his throat slit. However, his co-worker, Hossain Ahmed, was missing from the scene. Upon discovering the murder, the landlord immediately informed the N.C.C. Police Station. The officer-in-charge of N.C.C. Police Station stated that during their investigation, they learned that Hossain Ahmed had allegedly murdered Rezaul Hossain Laskar and fled the scene.

In the following days, the police carried out several raids at Hossain Ahmed's home in Assam but could not locate him. However, the N.C.C. Police Station later received information that Hossain Ahmed had come to Agartala for masonry work. Based on this intelligence, the police tracked him down and arrested Hossain Ahmed from the Joynagar area on Friday night.

On Saturday, the police presented the arrested Hossain Ahmed in court, seeking remand for further investigation. The arrest of Hossain Ahmed marks a significant development in the case, as the police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Rezaul Hossain Laskar's murder. Authorities are hopeful that with this breakthrough, they will be able to uncover more details about the motive behind the crime.
