Agartala, Oct 9 (PTI): Ensuring timely delivery of government welfare benefits to eligible beneficiaries and expediting development projects were the key focus areas of a district-level review meeting chaired by Tripura minister Sudhangshu Das in Khowai on Friday.
The meeting was held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate's office and attended by officials of the Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries Department and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.
Das, who holds charge of the three departments, reviewed the progress of various schemes and development programmes being implemented during the 2026-27 financial year.
During the meeting, the minister assessed whether beneficiaries enrolled under different government schemes were receiving assistance, services and other benefits within the stipulated timeframe.
The discussions focused on monitoring implementation at the grassroots level and ensuring that welfare initiatives effectively reach the people for whom they are intended, officials said.
Representatives of the three departments presented updates on ongoing schemes, projects and their implementation status. The minister subsequently reviewed the progress and discussed measures to improve the delivery of benefits and the overall effectiveness of the programmes.
Particular emphasis was placed on identifying administrative bottlenecks, improving coordination among departments and preventing procedural delays that could affect eligible beneficiaries.
Das also held detailed discussions with officials on ways to accelerate development projects being implemented under the three departments across the district.
He stressed the importance of timely execution of projects and effective monitoring to ensure that the intended objectives of government initiatives translate into tangible benefits for residents.
The review also underscored the need for greater administrative efficiency, regular supervision and accountability in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes.
Officials were urged to maintain close coordination and monitor progress at the field level to address implementation-related challenges and ensure that projects are completed within the prescribed timelines.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening oversight of ongoing initiatives and improving the delivery of public services across Khowai district.
The review forms part of the state government's efforts to assess the implementation of departmental schemes, ensure that public assistance reaches eligible recipients and accelerate development activities during the current financial year.
