Agartala, October 2: Tripura will organise the ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ across the state on October 7 as part of the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service.

Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the programme after attending an organisational meeting at the state party headquarters on Friday, where preparations for the statewide events were reviewed.

The programmes will be organised across all eight districts, with emphasis on coordinated arrangements, public participation and smooth conduct of the yatras, officials said.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Chowdhury said the initiatives were intended to carry the message of public service to different sections of society and encourage people to participate in activities linked to nation-building.

“Through these yatras, we aim to strengthen our collective commitment to public service and carry the message of seva to every section of society. It is our expectation that the spirit of service will reach every household and inspire citizens to contribute to the nation’s progress,” he said.

The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra will feature processions centred around the Seva Jyoti, along with cycle and motorcycle rallies at different locations. The programme is scheduled to conclude before 11 am on October 7, following which Modi’s address will be broadcast live, according to details discussed during preparations.

The minister has also stressed the importance of participation by young people and college students in the programme. Officials and organisational representatives have been coordinating with district-level authorities to finalise arrangements and ensure participation across the state.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being organised from September 17 to October 17 and comprises a series of programmes aimed at highlighting public service, welfare initiatives and the broader theme of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The campaign includes the Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra among its key activities.

The upcoming programmes in Tripura are expected to include public gatherings and rallies at different locations, with organisers seeking participation from various sections of society.

Chowdhury said coordinated efforts by officials, organisational workers and participants would be necessary for the successful conduct of the programmes.

He appealed to people to extend cooperation and participate in the events, saying the initiatives would provide an opportunity to reinforce the message of public service and collective responsibility.
