Srinagar, Dec 1 — The National Investigation Agency (NIA), assisted by the Jammu & Kashmir Police and the CRPF, carried out extensive raids at 10 locations across Kashmir on Monday as part of its continuing investigation into the Delhi terror blast case.
Officials said the raids were conducted simultaneously in various parts of the Valley, targeting individuals suspected of links to a white-collar terror module. The locations included the residences of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Dr Adil Rather, Dr Muzammil Ganai, Amir Rashid, Jasir Bilal Wani, and others. Searches were carried out in Nadigam village of Shopian and the Koil, Chandgam, Malangpora, and Samboora areas of Pulwama district.
Investigators were looking for digital evidence, documents, and other material that could further expose the network behind the high-intensity blast that rocked the Red Fort area on November 10. The explosion, caused by an explosive-laden Hyundai i20 car, killed at least 13 people and injured several others. The vehicle was reportedly driven by Dr Umar Nabi of Koil village, who remains absconding.
So far, six people have been arrested in connection with the incident. The breakthrough came after two overground workers of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were apprehended, leading the J&K Police to Faridabad, Haryana. There, a terror module allegedly run by Kashmiri doctors working at Al-Falah University was busted.
During the operation, authorities seized over 2,900 kg of explosive material, along with electronic detonation devices and other incriminating items. Among those arrested was Dr Shaheed Saeed, a pharmacologist from Lucknow who had married Dr Muzammil Ganai. She was also linked to the activities of the module.
The NIA continues to piece together the network responsible for the attack as efforts to trace the absconding accused intensify.
