Bengaluru: April 02: B.S. Yediyurappa, former Chief Minister of Karnataka and a senior BJP leader, launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in the state, accusing it of misgovernance and neglecting public welfare. Speaking to the media after participating in the BJP’s day-long sit-in protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa expressed strong discontent over the government’s decision to hike prices of essential goods. He stated that the BJP would continue its struggle across Karnataka until the Congress government reversed its price hike policies.

Yediyurappa criticized the current government for halting essential development and irrigation works, which, he claimed, has led to widespread public frustration. He further stated that the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has no moral right to remain in power given its disregard for public interests and its failure to prioritize development. Referring to the government’s actions as a “Tughlaq Darbar,” he accused the administration of ruling in an arbitrary and disconnected manner, showing no empathy for the hardships faced by the people.

According to Yediyurappa, the Siddaramaiah government’s overwhelming majority has made it complacent and out of touch with the concerns of the common man. He mentioned that people, particularly women, have expressed their discontent by participating in the protest beyond expectations. He pointed out that the continuous rise in prices of commodities has made life unbearable for the public, and the government’s failure to address these issues is leading to a suffocating situation.

Yediyurappa urged the public to spread awareness about the government’s failures and take action by campaigning door-to-door. He emphasized that the BJP’s goal is to ensure that the Congress government is held accountable for its actions and ultimately forced to step down from power.
