Agartala, May 20: In a significant move to revive industrial activity, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) on Monday acquired the land, sheds, and fixed assets of 12 long-abandoned industrial units located in the Bodhjungnagar and RK Nagar Industrial Complexes.
These industrial units had remained non-functional for years, leaving prime industrial land and infrastructure underutilized. As a result, TIDC was unable to allot land and sheds to new industrial ventures. Moreover, a total of ₹63,90,248 was pending as rent arrears from the owners of these units, despite repeated demand notices.
With no response from the defaulters, TIDC invoked the Tripura Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act to reclaim the properties. The assets acquired include a total of 11 acres of land and five industrial sheds.
The reclaimed properties include:
- Khumpui Global Services (0.40 acre)
- BR Rubtech Industries (1.00 acre)
- ATW Millennium Concept (1 shed)
- Agartala Electrical LLP (0.50 acre + 1 shed)
- Simanta Handicraft Products Pvt. Ltd. (2.00 acres)
- ARI Pavers Pvt. Ltd. (0.50 acre)
- North East Solar Energy Systems LLP (1 shed)
- Prime & Pure Food Industries (2 sheds)
- Pro Rub Craft Pvt. Ltd. (2.00 acres and 1.06 acres for its rubber goods division)
- Inoculation Accessories NE Pvt. Ltd. (1.00 acre)
- Joy Chandimata Cold Storage & Agencies Pvt. Ltd. (2.00 acres)
TIDC has announced that the acquired land and sheds will now be reallocated for setting up new industrial units in accordance with established guidelines. The initiative is aimed at promoting fresh investments, boosting industrial growth, and generating employment opportunities in the state.
