He emphasized that the budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and will play a key role in Tripura’s development.
Dr. Saha highlighted that the budget prioritizes the welfare of diverse groups, including women, students, youth, minorities, tribals, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, employees, pensioners, ex-servicemen, and the general public. He acknowledged the Finance Department’s efforts in crafting this inclusive budget and pointed out that India, under PM Modi’s leadership, has moved from 11th to 5th in global economic rankings, aiming to become the third-largest economy by 2030.
He underscored the state’s progress in economic stability, noting a significant rise in revenue collection—from Rs. 1,915 crore in 2017-18 to an anticipated Rs. 4,514 crore in 2025-26. Dr. Saha assured that the state government is committed to fiscal responsibility, keeping the debt within the permissible limit of 3% of GSDP, and focusing on external aided projects to minimize debt.
