Tripura Cabinet Approves Recruitment for 385 Posts Across Key Departments

The Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura Cabinet, in its meeting held on Tuesday, approved recruitment for 385 posts across several departments, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced on Wednesday.

Addressing reporters at the Civil Secretariat, Chowdhury said the Cabinet cleared the filling up of 97 posts under the Co-operative Department, including Auditors, Investigators and Statistical Investigators. These vacancies will be filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).

Under the Social Welfare & Social Education Department, the Cabinet approved the opening of 119 new Anganwadi Centres across the state. Correspondingly, 119 Anganwadi Worker posts and 119 Anganwadi Helper posts will be created and filled to operationalize the new centres.

Chowdhury further informed that the council of ministers has approved recruitment of 28 Supervisors for ICDS projects, which will be conducted through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).

Strengthening the technical workforce, the Cabinet also approved the creation and filling up of 14 new technical posts under the Urban Development Department. These include positions in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Public Health Engineering wings to enhance infrastructure and service delivery.

In a significant step for the cultural and creative sector, the Cabinet gave the nod to engage eight faculty members and support staff for the Tripura Film & Television Institute. The approved posts include Associate Professors (Screen Acting; Film & Video Editing), an Editor-cum-Demonstrator, Senior Technical Officer (Maintenance & IT), Sound Recording & Mixing Engineer, Academic Coordinator, and attendants for the Editing Media Lab and Screen Acting section.

Chowdhury added that the Cabinet also discussed and approved other important matters, including a modification to the Journalist Pension Scheme, aimed at improving benefits for accredited journalists in Tripura.
