Agartala, July 29 — Tripura Governor Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu paid a visit to the Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited at South Bagma in Gomati district on Monday afternoon. The visit was part of his ongoing initiative to engage directly with grassroots-level institutions and review the progress of rural development and agricultural entrepreneurship in the state.
During the visit, the Governor interacted with the members and management of the Agri Producer Company and took stock of their operations, challenges, and achievements. He lauded the efforts of local farmers and entrepreneurs who have come together to form the producer company, thereby contributing to the rural economy and sustainable agricultural practices.
Governor Reddy emphasized the importance of empowering farmer collectives and promoting agri-based industries to enhance income generation and self-reliance among rural communities. He encouraged the members to explore value addition, better market linkages, and government schemes tailored for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
Officials of the Bagma Agri Producer Company presented a brief overview of their activities, including crop cultivation, agri-processing, and efforts to increase productivity through sustainable methods. They also highlighted the need for improved infrastructure, training, and financial support to scale up their operations.
Governor Reddy assured that he would bring their concerns to the attention of the appropriate authorities and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to uplifting farmers through innovative policies and direct engagement.
Local administrative officials, agricultural extension officers, and community representatives were present during the Governor’s visit. The event concluded with a community interaction session, where farmers shared their experiences and aspirations for the future.
