Khumulwng, Nov 06: A significant step towards enhancing the hospitality industry in Tripura will be taken tomorrow, 7th November 2024, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), TATA STRIVE, and the Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL), which owns the prestigious TAJ Hotel Group. The MoU aims to establish a *Hospitality Skill Development Centre of Excellence* in Khumulwng, a move that is set to strengthen the region’s hospitality training infrastructure and create employment opportunities for the local youth.
The signing ceremony will be attended by prominent dignitaries, including His Highness Bubagra, the Hon’ble Chairman of the Autonomous District Council (ARCC), TTAADC, and Smt. Kriti Devi Debbarman, the Hon’ble Member of Parliament (MP) from Tripura East Lok Sabha Constituency. Both leaders are expected to underscore the importance of the collaboration in providing world-class skill training in the hospitality sector, which will open doors for the local tribal population to gain employment in the growing tourism and hospitality industries.
The new Hospitality Skill Development Centre will offer specialized training programs that cater to various aspects of hospitality management, from front-office operations to culinary arts, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills required to work in high-end hotels and resorts, both within India and internationally.
This initiative is part of the larger vision to promote sustainable tourism in Tripura, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the economic development of the region. By partnering with TATA STRIVE and IHCL, the TTAADC aims to provide young people in the area with the necessary skills and resources to excel in one of India’s most rapidly expanding industries.
The establishment of this centre is expected to play a key role in transforming Tripura into a hub for hospitality training, attracting more investments and enhancing the state’s profile as a tourism destination.
