Agartala:

Kalyanpur Pramodnagar MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury has once again demonstrated his commitment to social welfare by extending support to underprivileged families in his constituency. Known for his proactive approach in areas such as education, healthcare, and community development, the legislator continues to use his personal MLA allowance and contributions from party colleagues to drive grassroots initiatives.

On Saturday evening, a brief programme was organised at the Kalyanpur Mandal office, where meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds were provided with essential textbooks and study materials. The initiative was aimed at ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the educational aspirations of deserving students, while also encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence.

Among the beneficiaries was Jeet Debnath, son of Biplab Debnath from Bateka village, who has been struggling to continue his studies due to financial difficulties. In another case, three children of Suchitra Sarkar—Samarjit, Jewel, and Riktik—from South Ghilatli Panchayat, also received educational assistance. The support brought relief and renewed hope to the families, who expressed gratitude for the timely intervention.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury stressed the importance of education as a key driver of social progress. “Education is the greatest strength in life. To build a progressive society, it is essential to ensure that the light of learning reaches every household. If our small effort can help shape a student’s future, we consider it a success,” he said.

He further assured that such initiatives would continue in the future, with an increased focus on education, healthcare, and social security. The MLA highlighted his commitment to reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of society and addressing their needs through sustained efforts.

Local residents and parents welcomed the initiative, noting that beyond financial assistance, such gestures boost students’ confidence and motivation. Many believe that this humanitarian approach will inspire others in the community to come forward and contribute towards building a more inclusive and supportive society.
