Agartala, Aug 8: Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday called for strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organisation at the grassroots level while expanding its commitment to public service, urging party workers to draw inspiration from the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Chowdhury made the remarks while participating in a district-level training camp organised by the BJP’s Sadar Town unit as part of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Mega-Campaign–2026.
The training programme brought together party functionaries and workers for discussions on the BJP’s ideology, organisational functioning and strategies aimed at further strengthening its presence at the grassroots.
Chowdhury said the camp provided an opportunity for “fruitful discussions and exchanges of views” on various aspects of the party’s ideology and organisational methods. He stressed the importance of building a strong and disciplined organisation extending down to the booth level.
Highlighting Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism, the Minister said party workers should remain committed to serving ordinary people and expanding welfare-oriented initiatives.
“We move forward with a firm resolve to dedicate ourselves to serving the common people and expanding welfare initiatives. Organisation must be strong, and public service must be widespread — this is our path,” Chowdhury said.
The Minister maintained that strengthening the party organisation and serving people should go hand in hand. He urged workers to maintain close contact with citizens, understand their concerns and work towards addressing issues affecting them at the grassroots level.
Chowdhury also underlined the significance of booth-level organisation, describing it as crucial to building a strong, disciplined and responsive party structure.
According to him, the training campaign should not be viewed merely as an internal organisational exercise but as an opportunity to deepen the party’s engagement with the people.
The programme also focused on preparing party workers to meet future organisational challenges by combining ideological understanding with practical approaches to public outreach.
Chowdhury urged the participants to carry the lessons of the training programme to the grassroots and translate them into action through greater engagement with the public.
He reiterated that the BJP’s organisational journey should continue with a firm commitment to its ideological principles while placing public service and welfare at the centre of its activities.
