New Delhi, May 7 — In a decisive response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, including one Nepali national, the Indian Army launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, successfully targeting nine high-value terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The operation, carried out with surgical precision, specifically targeted terror infrastructure linked to groups responsible for the Pahalgam massacre. According to official sources, all nine targets were hit successfully, with no harm caused to Pakistani civilians, military personnel, or economic assets — underscoring India’s commitment to focused and restrained counterterrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored the mission throughout the night, remaining in close communication with national security advisors and top military commanders. His active involvement underscored the gravity of the situation and the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

The Indian Army confirmed that the mission was carefully planned to be non-escalatory, with a clear objective: to hold those behind the Pahalgam attack accountable. Described as “focused and precise,” the strikes aimed only at known terror camps from where recent attacks against India were orchestrated.

An Army spokesperson reiterated India’s stance, stating, “Justice is served,” and emphasized the operation’s strategic intent to punish perpetrators without provoking broader conflict.

Operation Sindoor marks a significant moment in India’s counterterrorism strategy, combining military precision with diplomatic caution. It sends a clear message of deterrence while seeking to avoid unnecessary escalation in the already volatile region.

As tensions remain high, global powers have urged both nations to exercise restraint, though India maintains that its actions were legitimate and proportionate. The success of Operation Sindoor signals a shift in India’s approach to cross-border terrorism—resolute, calibrated, and determined.
