Agartala, June 2: Amid the worsening flood situation in Tripura due to continuous heavy rainfall, BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda has extended his full support to the state. The assurance came during a telephonic conversation with BJP Tripura President Rajib Bhattacharjee on Monday.
Bhattacharjee shared the development via social media, stating that Nadda had inquired about the current ground situation and expressed solidarity with the people of Tripura. “Due to the unexpected flood situation caused by heavy rainfall, Hon’ble BJP National President and Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji spoke with me over the phone today to get an update on the situation,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post in Bengali, Bhattacharjee added, “I briefed him about the current condition of the state. He assured me that he stands firmly beside us and will extend all possible support. I sincerely thank him for standing by the people of Tripura during this difficult time.”
Several areas across the state, especially low-lying regions, have been inundated, prompting the administration to set up relief camps and begin emergency distribution of food and essential items. Senior BJP leaders, including MPs and ministers, have also visited affected areas to oversee relief operations.
The prompt engagement from the BJP’s central leadership has brought a sense of reassurance as rescue and rehabilitation efforts continue across flood-affected districts.
