New Delhi, July 13 — President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha from Monday, July 14, during which she will attend multiple convocation ceremonies and participate in key cultural and educational events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

According to an official statement issued on Sunday, President Murmu will preside over the 5th convocation of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday. The event will witness the graduation of medical students and the conferring of awards for academic excellence.

On Tuesday, she will be in Cuttack to attend the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha’s premier educational institutions. Additionally, she will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, reflecting her commitment to strengthening girls’ education.

In a culturally significant event, President Murmu will also participate in the birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, a legendary Odia poet, and present the Kalinga Ratna Award 2024 in Cuttack.

This marks yet another important regional engagement for the President, who has consistently focused on education, inclusion, and heritage during her tenure.

Last month, during her birthday celebrations in Dehradun, President Murmu was visibly moved by a heartfelt musical tribute by visually impaired students from the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities. She also inaugurated the Presidential Niketan, launched a book on its biodiversity, and participated in International Yoga Day activities.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently released ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’, a collection of 51 speeches delivered by President Murmu during her second year in office. The book, published in Hindi and English, reflects her vision of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, focusing on inclusion, innovation, gender equality, and cultural pride.
