Aizawl, July 21 — Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Monday launched the ‘Mizo DiasporaHub’, a digital platform designed to connect the state with Mizo communities living across the globe. Developed by the Mizo Diaspora Cell under the Chief Minister’s Office in collaboration with LushAITech, the initiative marks a step toward enhancing government engagement with Mizos abroad.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Minister said the platform reflects the government’s commitment to innovation and responsive governance. “It is vital to maintain strong and sustained relationships with Mizo communities worldwide. This portal will help strengthen those bonds,” Lalduhoma stated.

The newly constituted Mizo Diaspora Cell, formed on June 11, 2024, is tasked with maintaining and supporting communication with Mizos outside the state and country. Welfare associations and groups globally have been urged to register on the portal and utilize its resources for coordination and mutual support.

The portal offers features such as access to welfare associations, contact details of office bearers, gathering locations, and AI-enabled services including automatic translation and SOS alerts. It also enables associations to coordinate among themselves, helping streamline communication and collective action.

Lalduhoma, a former IPS officer, emphasized the state’s readiness to assist Mizos abroad, particularly those facing hardship or exploitation. He also praised LushAITech for developing the portal with minimal government spending.

Chairman of the Diaspora Cell, Vanlaldina Fanai, said the initiative aims to address challenges faced by Mizos migrating abroad, especially through irregular means. He stressed the importance of responsible migration and stronger ties with Mizoram.

The portal is now available for association registration, with individual registrations to open soon. It is accessible via the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and web browsers, making it widely available for the Mizo diaspora worldwide.
