New Delhi, Aug 12 — Patriotic fervour gripped the nation as Tiranga Rallies were held across Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and several other states on Tuesday, ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations.

In the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police led a rally with schoolchildren, aiming to instil national pride and strengthen ties between students and the police force. Marchers waved the Tricolour, their enthusiasm mirroring the spirit of freedom.

In Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Alyas Khan flagged off a rally at 8 a.m., joined by nearly 1,000 participants, including CRPF’s 84 Battalion, District Police, students, NGOs, and residents. The procession echoed with slogans of “Jai Hind” and “Vande Mataram” as it moved through the town. CRPF Commandant N. Ranbir Singh lauded the unity displayed, affirming the armed forces’ dedication to safeguarding the honour of the national flag.

In Jharkhand’s Garhwa, the CRPF’s 172 Battalion organised a Tiranga Yatra from its Kalyanpur headquarters. Motorcycle convoys adorned with the national flag traversed the district, passing major landmarks such as China Road and Ghanta Ghar, with patriotic chants resonating throughout.

In Gangtok, the Har Ghar Tiranga rally was attended by Governor Om Prakash Mathur, Chief Minister Prem Singh, ministers, legislators, students, and citizens. Starting at MG Marg and concluding at Manan Kendra, the one-km march featured cultural performances, patriotic songs, and vibrant displays by the National Cadet Corps and local artists, celebrating India’s unity in diversity.

From the Himalayas to the plains, these rallies served as a reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom and the shared responsibility of every citizen to uphold the dignity of the Tricolour.
