Agartala, Aug 18 – The Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) has issued a notification inviting applications for the Selection Test for Post-Graduate Teachers (STPGT) under the School Education Department. The examination will be conducted to fill 1,033 vacancies of Post-Graduate Teachers (PGT) for Classes XI and XII.
According to the notification, online applications will be accepted from 4 PM on August 29 and will remain open until 4 PM on September 15, 2025. Only candidates with permanent residence in Tripura and possessing the required educational qualifications are eligible to apply.
The recruitment drive covers multiple subjects, with the following vacancies: English (70), Kokborok (75), Bengali (50), History (71), Political Science (65), Philosophy (6), Geography (80), Sanskrit (20), Economics (80), Physics (55), Chemistry (59), Biology (45), Mathematics (50), Commerce (33), Sociology (70), Psychology (86), and Computer Science (118).
The TRBT notification further specifies that there will be 33 percent horizontal reservation for women candidates within the reserved categories, as well as 33 percent reservation for women in the unreserved category.
The STPGT examination is scheduled for November 2, 2025 (Sunday), from 12 PM to 2:30 PM. The test will assess subject knowledge along with teaching aptitude to ensure selection of qualified teachers for higher secondary education in Tripura.
This large-scale recruitment is expected to significantly strengthen the teaching workforce in state-run schools and improve the quality of education across Tripura. Aspirants are advised to carefully read the detailed notification on the TRBT portal before applying online.
