Agartala: August 23: In a proud moment for India and the Northeast, Yajik Hillang from Arunachal Pradesh has clinched the Gold Medal in the Women’s Model Physique category (upto 160 cm) at the prestigious 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025 held in Bangkok, Thailand. This remarkable victory not only highlights her personal achievement but also brings immense pride to the entire nation, particularly the Northeast region, which continues to produce world-class sporting talent.

Hillong’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance have paved the way for this historic win, making her a shining inspiration for aspiring athletes, especially young women in the field of bodybuilding and fitness sports. Competing against top athletes from across Asia, she demonstrated extraordinary confidence, grace, and physical excellence to secure the coveted gold medal.

Adding further glory to India’s performance at the championship, Swarnim Rai put up an impressive show and secured fourth place in the Women’s Model Physique category (upto 165 cm). Rai’s commendable effort showcased her hard work, determination, and competitive spirit, earning her recognition at the continental level.

The 57th edition of the championship witnessed participation from several Asian nations, with athletes competing in various physique and bodybuilding categories. India’s success in this prestigious event reflects the growing prominence of the country in the international bodybuilding and fitness arena.

The achievements of Yajik Hillang and Swarnim Rai are being celebrated widely, as they have not only elevated India’s standing in the sport but have also opened doors of inspiration for countless fitness enthusiasts in the Northeast and beyond.
