Agartala, Aug 31 — In a heartfelt display of grassroots participation, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury joined villagers and BJP karyakartas at Booth No. 11 in the 4-Barjala Assembly Constituency to listen to the 125th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s iconic radio programme Mann Ki Baat.

The event reflected a strong sense of community and patriotism, as residents gathered to hear the milestone broadcast, which has emerged as a powerful medium of direct dialogue between the Prime Minister and the people of India.

Minister Chowdhury lauded Mann Ki Baat, describing it as “the pulse of a dynamic nation on its path to becoming prosperous and empowered.” He noted that the programme has captured the imagination of millions across the country, serving as a bridge between the government and ordinary citizens.

Speaking to the media after the gathering, Chowdhury called the 125th episode a landmark, underscoring the programme’s role in strengthening emotional and civic bonds. “It presents our Prime Minister as a caring, responsible, compassionate, and decisive leader,” he said, “whose visionary efforts are transforming India into a global power while improving the quality of life for every citizen.”

During the broadcast, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his call for “Vocal for Local,” urging citizens to support indigenous products as the festive season approaches, beginning with Ganesh Chaturthi. Echoing the Prime Minister’s sentiment, Chowdhury appealed to the public to embrace Swadeshi items. “Festivals become truly joyous when people are at peace and self-reliant. This season, let us celebrate with products made by our own people,” he remarked.

The event concluded with enthusiastic discussions among attendees, many of whom expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s outreach and the Minister’s presence among them. Villagers shared that listening to the programme together fostered a sense of unity and national pride, further reinforcing the grassroots connect envisioned by Mann Ki Baat.
