New Delhi, Oct 13 — Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Buildathon (VBB) 2025 in the national capital, marking the launch of India’s largest-ever school innovation challenge, with participation from more than 3 lakh schools across the country.

Addressing the inaugural session, the Minister interacted with students and lauded their enthusiasm and innovative spirit. He said that Viksit Bharat—a developed India envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by 2047—will be built on the strength and creativity of the country’s young minds.

“India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation will be driven by the innovation and ideas of our school students. The concepts emerging from this initiative will not only inspire change domestically but also create global models for sustainable and inclusive growth,” Pradhan said.

Following the inauguration, a two-hour-long innovation challenge was held, during which students from classes 6 to 12 participated in a live tinkering session. Working in teams, they designed and built prototypes based on four key themes — Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Samriddhi.

A unique feature of the event was the ‘School Spotlights’, which highlighted success stories from 150 schools located in remote regions, aspirational districts, hilly states, and frontier areas. These schools showcased their progress and shared their innovation journeys with peers nationwide.

Later in the day, Pradhan visited Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Delhi Cantt., where he interacted with students and teachers, observing a range of creative student-led projects. He commended their curiosity and problem-solving approach, encouraging them to remain inquisitive and continue innovating to contribute to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
