Agartala, Oct 17, 2025:
Tripura has achieved a historic milestone in tribal development, earning multiple national honours at the National Conclave on Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, held on October 17, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the visionary framework of Viksit Bharat, the event was graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and attended by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram and Minister of State Shri Durgadas Uikey.

The conclave celebrated outstanding performance in tribal welfare across India under flagship initiatives like PM-JANMAN, Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA), and Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, recognising the best performers in governance, inclusivity, and implementation.

Tripura emerged as one of the top-performing states, winning two prestigious national awards — Best Performing State in PM-JANMAN and Best Performing State in Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. The awards were received by Dr. K. Sasikumar, IFS, Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, from the Hon’ble President. Additionally, North Tripura District was adjudged the Best Performing District under PM-JANMAN, with District Magistrate and Collector Ms. Chandni Chandran, IAS, receiving the award. Gomati District also secured recognition for its exemplary work in both Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan and DAJA, while Unakoti and Dhalai Districts were honoured for their exceptional contributions under DAJA.

Under PM-JANMAN, Tripura’s achievements include the construction of 15,584 houses with 1,632 more in progress, operationalisation of 141 Anganwadi Centres, and provision of tap water connections to 38,014 PVTG households. The state has also electrified 11,692 homes through grid connectivity and 1,051 via solar power, installed 10 mobile network towers, built 18 Multipurpose Centres (with 32 more underway), established 30 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, and initiated 67 road projects spanning 205 kilometres.

The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, launched on June 15, 2025, as part of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, has emerged as India’s largest tribal empowerment campaign. Tripura’s saturation camp model has proven particularly effective, with 4,036 camps engaging over 12.7 lakh participants, addressing issues such as identity documentation, financial inclusion, healthcare, and welfare access. To ensure district-level accountability, the Chief Minister designated one Minister as Prabhari for each district, promoting coordinated and responsive execution.

The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, conceptualized under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, focuses on empowering tribal communities in 392 villages through citizen-led planning rooted in the ethos of Sewa, Samarpan, and Sankalp.

Tripura’s success at the National Conclave stands as a testament to the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister and the collective efforts of the Chief Secretary, Secretaries, District Magistrates, and field officials, reaffirming Tripura’s position as a national leader in inclusive tribal governance and transformative rural development.
