Agartala, Oct 28: On the occasion of Rash Purnima, a three-day Brahmakunda Fair will be held from November 5 to 7, marking one of the state’s most prominent traditional gatherings. In preparation for the event, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath chaired a detailed review meeting today at the Nat Mandir of the Shiv Temple, adjacent to the Brahmakunda Gram Panchayat Office.

Speaking after the meeting, Minister Nath described the Brahmakunda Mela as a historic and culturally significant fair held twice a year—once during Rash Purnima and again on the occasion of Ashoka Ashtami. “The mela will start from November 5. This is a unique event where both tribal and non-tribal communities come together in celebration. To ensure smooth organization, we have held this meeting with the participation of all stakeholders. The main events will take place on November 6 and 7, with the final day marking the conclusion,” the Minister said.

He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation, adding that the fair would be conducted in a disciplined and festive manner, transcending political differences. Various departments will set up exhibition pavilions, and cultural programs will be held every evening under the initiative of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.

Minister Nath also urged all sub-committees to work responsibly and seek the cooperation of the public to ensure the fair’s grand success.

Among those present at the meeting were Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Brisaketu Debbarma, TTAADC Executive Member (Education) Rabindra Debbarma, Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Sameer Ranjan Ghosh, Mohanpur SDM Sajal Debnath, and several other officials and local representatives.
