Tripura Chief Minister Lays Foundation Stone for Extension Project of Tripura Bhavan in New Delhi

New Delhi, today witnessed a significant milestone for Tripura with the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, laying the foundation stone for the extension project of Tripura Bhavan located at Bir Tikendrajit Marg. The project aims to enhance accommodation and infrastructure facilities for the state in the national capital, reflecting Tripura’s growing administrative and developmental needs.

The extension project includes the construction of six well-equipped rooms and two spacious hall rooms, which will significantly augment the existing facilities of Tripura Bhavan. The total estimated cost of the project has been fixed at ₹2.95 crore. Once completed, the new infrastructure is expected to provide improved lodging and meeting facilities for visiting dignitaries, officials, and guests from Tripura, thereby strengthening the state’s institutional presence in New Delhi.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony was attended by several eminent leaders and dignitaries from Tripura. Among those present were the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Ramprasad Pal; Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee; Social Welfare Minister, Shri Tinku Roy; Higher Education Minister, Shri Kishor Barman; Industries and Commerce Minister, Smt. Santana Chakma; Tribal Welfare Minister, Shri Bikash Debbarma; and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister, Shri Sudhangshu Das. MLA Shri Bhagaban Das, CRC Shri Manoj Kumar, along with other senior officials and distinguished guests, were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of developing modern and functional infrastructure outside the state to support administrative work, inter-state coordination, and the welfare of Tripura’s people. He emphasized that the extension of Tripura Bhavan would serve as a vital hub for government activities and cultural exchange in the national capital.

The project symbolizes Tripura’s continued commitment to development, efficient governance, and enhanced representation at the national level.
