A group of students from Bihar and Gujarat, who are on a tour of Tripura under the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme, paid a courtesy call on Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu at Lok Bhavan, Agartala, on Saturday evening.

The visiting students are part of a national-level youth exchange initiative aimed at promoting cultural integration, mutual understanding, and national unity among young people from different states of the country. During the interaction, the Governor warmly welcomed the students and expressed happiness over their visit to Tripura, one of the eight states of the North Eastern region collectively known as Ashtalakshmi.

Governor Nallu highlighted the importance of such exchange programmes in fostering a spirit of unity in diversity and strengthening emotional bonds among youths from various parts of India. He encouraged the students to learn about the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and history of Tripura during their stay and to carry back positive impressions of the state to their respective regions.

The students shared their experiences of visiting various places of historical, cultural, and natural significance in Tripura. They spoke about their interactions with local communities and expressed appreciation for the state’s scenic beauty, traditional art forms, and warm hospitality. The Governor interacted with the students in an informal manner and answered their queries on governance, development, and the role of youth in nation-building.

Officials present at the programme said the Ashtalakshmi Darshan Youth Exchange Programme provides young participants with an opportunity to understand the social, cultural, and economic life of the North Eastern states. The initiative also aims to reduce regional disparities and promote greater awareness about the North East among youths from other parts of the country.

The interaction concluded with the Governor extending his best wishes to the students for the remainder of their tour and their future endeavours. He expressed hope that such exchanges would continue to inspire young minds to contribute positively towards national integration and inclusive development.
