As part of the ongoing Tripura Police Week 2026, a vibrant running competition was organized in Santirbazar on Thursday, drawing active participation from police personnel and local youth. The event formed an important segment of the statewide programmes being conducted under the banner of Tripura Police to mark the week-long observance.
The race commenced from Santirbazar Police Station and concluded at the premises of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, covering a key stretch of the town. Participants included personnel from Santirbazar Police Station, Baikhora Police Station, Monpathar Outpost, Jolaibari Outpost, and Debdaru Outpost. The presence of enthusiastic young residents added to the competitive and celebratory spirit of the occasion.
The programme was attended by several senior officials, including Baikhora Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bishnu Chandra Das, Monpathar Outpost OC Jayanta Das, Santirbazar Police Station Second Officer SI Samir Biswas, and Jolaibari Outpost OC Khokon Das, among others. Their presence underscored the importance of community-oriented initiatives during Police Week.
Speaking to the media, OC Bishnu Chandra Das stated that the competition was organized under the initiative of the Armed Reserve Department as part of efforts to promote physical fitness, discipline, and stronger ties with the public. He informed that selected participants would be awarded prizes in recognition of their performance, further motivating youth engagement in constructive activities.
The event witnessed widespread enthusiasm from both participants and spectators. Beyond celebrating Police Week, the run served as a platform to enhance cooperation and mutual trust between law enforcement agencies and the community, reinforcing the message of unity, fitness, and shared responsibility in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
