Agartala, October 27: Leaders of Amra Bangali, Tripura State Committee, on Monday submitted a seven-point memorandum to the District Magistrate of West Tripura, expressing grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and urging immediate action to ensure the safety and security of the Bengali community across the state.

The delegation, led by State President Gouranga Rudra Pal, alleged that recent incidents of targeted attacks, intimidation, and social discrimination against Bengalis have created a growing sense of fear and insecurity. “The need to safeguard the lives, property, and rights of Bengali residents has become urgent,” Rudra Pal said while speaking to reporters after submitting the memorandum.

In the memorandum, Amra Bangali called for strict administrative measures to restore peace and communal harmony. The seven-point charter of demands includes protection of life and property of Bengali residents, stringent action against those responsible for disturbing harmony, prevention of hate campaigns on social and public platforms, and the deployment of special police patrols in sensitive rural areas. The party also demanded effective measures to curb communal tensions, ensure justice for victims of recent attacks, and maintain impartial law enforcement.

The leaders emphasized that maintaining peace and unity is essential for Tripura’s social fabric and development. They urged the administration to act promptly and without bias to prevent any escalation of unrest.

Warning of intensified agitation if their concerns remain unaddressed, the party stated, “If the administration fails to take effective steps within a reasonable time, Amra Bangali will be compelled to launch a larger democratic movement across the state.”

The delegation expressed hope that the District Magistrate and law enforcement agencies would take immediate steps to restore confidence among the Bengali community and uphold the rule of law.
