Agartala: April 03: Ashish Kumar Saha, the President of the Pradesh Congress in Tripura, has made some serious allegations against the BJP government in the state. He claims that the government is deliberately creating obstacles for minorities and trying to incite tensions in border areas, particularly during Eid celebrations.

Saha criticized the BJP government’s handling of the Wakf Bill and announced that the Pradesh Congress would organize state-wide protests to oppose the Wakf Amendment Bill. He argued that the bill would harm the interests of the minority community and that the BJP’s approach is deeply problematic.

The Congress leader also expressed strong disapproval of the government’s treatment of residents living near the Bangladesh border, claiming that they face discriminatory actions, especially around Eid. He specifically mentioned the disconnection of electricity in border areas just before Eid, labeling it as an act of negligence and injustice.

Saha believes that these moves are part of a broader pattern of neglect towards minorities, aimed at destabilizing the region’s peace and harmony. He reaffirmed the Congress Party’s commitment to fighting for minority rights in Tripura, particularly against attempts to marginalize them.

It’s worth noting that Saha, along with MLA Sudip Roy Barman, had previously resigned from the BJP and joined the Congress, citing growing discontent with the BJP’s policies.
